About

Amy Sargeant is an arts writer, art educator, and disability advocate currently living in San Luis Obispo, CA.

Amy holds a BFA from the Oregon College of Art and Craft from Portland, Oregon and an MA from Central St. Martins College of Art and Design, University of the Arts London. After completing a 10,000 word dissertation on Art Writing as Fine Art Object whilst receiving mentorship feedback from Frieze Magazine, she ‘took a quick break’ from arts writing, moved back to the United States, began teaching at the university level, got married, had two kids, adopted a dog, a cat, and a tail-less gecko named ‘Beep’, served as Education Manager for the San Jose Museum of Art, before returning to what she loves most: writing about art (and other important things), and drinking lots of coffee (that’s a lie, she never ever gave up coffee, not even for a day.)
